Hi, I’m David Placher, a travel writer, a photographer, and a world traveler. My part-time travel writing complements my full-time profession that I depend my livelihood on. I’m not one of the hundreds that left jobs to become backpackers and roam the world. I’m a professional that loves to travel and write. I go on trips when I can. If I find cheap flights or low-cost quality hotels, even better. My travel articles capture my stories. About ME

My first trip outside of the United States was in November 1996. I was a college student, and I crossed the border from El Passo, TX to Juarez for an evening of adventures. My next trip outside of the United States wasn’t until March 2010. I went to visit my friend in Singapore. From Singapore, we took short trips to Bali, Indonesia and Phuket, Thailand. Sometime during my Singapore trip, I was bitten by the “travel bug” and I’ve been traveling since.
